Downtown High Point Businesses Come Together for Rock the Block Relief
Concert for Western NC

High Point, NC – October 29, 2024– Downtown High Point’s local businesses are
partnering to present Rock the Block: A Relief Concert for Western NC, an uplifting
community event aimed at supporting the ongoing disaster relief efforts led by the Cover
the City Project. The concert will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 behind Plank
Street Tavern (138 Church Ave.), bringing together music, community spirit, and
collective generosity to assist the communities of Western North Carolina impacted by
recent severe weather.
The Rock the Block Relief Concert (2 pm to 8 pm) will feature live performances, food
and drinks from local vendors, and family-friendly activities – all organized by Downtown
High Point businesses dedicated to making a difference. The event’s goal is to raise
crucial funds to support Cover the City Project, a regional nonprofit organization on the
frontlines of providing aid and resources to storm-ravaged communities.
“High Point is a community that shows up for others, and Rock the Block is a testament
to our shared commitment to supporting neighbors in need no matter the geography,”
said Amanda Anderson, President of Cover the City Project, an event organizer.
“Through the Cover the City Project, every dollar we raise for this event will go directly
to the areas in Western North Carolina where people need it most through various
nonprofit organizations with boots on the ground.”
Highlights of the Rock the Block Relief Concert include:

● Food and Beverage: Included in the price of your ticket is food from some
wonderful vendors who have donated their time and talents to assist in this
event.
● Family Activities and Games: Games, face painting, and kid-friendly activities
will make this an event for all ages.
● Raffle: With your purchase of admission tickets, raffle items will be given away to
a few lucky winners.
Local businesses such as Plank Street T avern have partnered together to provide
resources, sponsorship, and support, ensuring the event’s success. “It’s incredible to
see so many businesses come together for this initiative,” said Pam Hubay, Owner,
Plank Street Tavern. “Our goal is to make a tangible impact, bringing our community
together to show our support and help fund Cover the City Project’s mission to assist in
these affected areas.”
