Cecilia Richardson Trio:
The Cecilia Richardson Trio is a trio of musicians based in Greensboro, NC, who perform traditional and contemporary jazz, as well as original material. They met playing together as current students in the Miles Davis Jazz Studies Program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Collectively, they have years worth of experience playing and studying jazz, as well as other genres of music, such as funk, rock, and soul.

Cecilia Richardson is a guitarist originally from Greenville, NC. Born into a musical family, she started playing the violin at the age of four. At the age of 12 her dad brought home an electric guitar and it rocked her world. Now a second-year jazz performance major at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Cecilia still has the curiosity, drive, and passion for the guitar and for music that she felt the very first time she picked up the guitar. In addition to being a performer, Cecilia is also a composer and an arranger, giving her an appreciation for music from all angles. She gigs freelance, as part of the Ian Rood Quartet, as a bandleader with her own quartet and trio, and she also plays a variety of other gigs ranging from rock musicals to soul tributes.

While most who have met Tyson Baker will recall his superb style, hilarious commentary or infectious energy he brings to the room, all will recognize his love for music. Tyson has been making music since he was nine years old, from starting in a volunteer Salvation Army band to making waves in the music scene at his local college town, Greensboro, NC. Tyson explores many corners of music from his locally known rock band, Headcase, a groovy jazz group, Them Changes, and as bassist in the Ian Rood Trio, Cecilia Richardson Trio and so many more. Additionally, Mr. Baker enjoys writing songs, producing and mixing. Tyson finds inspiration for song writing in jazz, R&B, gospel and blues, with Stevie Wonder, Thundercat, and Erykah Badu being his top influencers.
Alston Harris (drums) (Instagram- @alston_harris)
Alston Harris is a Jazz percussionist from Winston Salem, NC. He started his musical career at the age of 7 on the trombone and drums. With a background in marching and classical percussion, he shaped his style of playing drumset around it. By high school, he had fully committed to the drumset, playing many styles such as rock, RnB, classical, and jazz. Now at the age of 20, he is in his junior year at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro pursuing a Bachelor’s in Music with a Concentration in Jazz percussion.
